Consent Scenarios for Boys

Consent education can help boys and young men develop the knowledge and skills needed to have equitable, respectful relationships and prevent gender-based violence. To be effective, consent education must meaningfully engage boys and address topics that meet their specific needs including: autonomy and agency, respecting and communicating boundaries, communicating consent and accepting ‘no’ as an answer, and understanding the diversity of masculinities. Over the course of the project, SIECCAN is conducting a consultation with health service providers and boys to create resources to support health service providers in delivering effective consent education to boys.
