Domestic Violence

One of the most challenging, but worthwhile, events I attended for International Women’s Day in Toronto, was the screening of Private Violence, a documentary on domestic violence in America. As I mentioned to one of the panelists after, it was a heavy topic even just to watch a documentary about, and I came away with the utmost respect for the individuals and organizations who provide advocacy and supportive services in this field, not to mention the many women who have experienced and continue to experience domestic violence firsthand.

The Genesis

Thanks to an amazing opportunity from Movember Canada, we have the resources to launch our first school-based programs for young men in the Greater Toronto Area in 2015, and we plan to expand our reach in the coming years. We believe that starting the conversation about what it means to be a man with young males at a crucial point in their lives will have a lasting impact on their physical, mental, emotional, and sexual health and development, and a positive influence within our communities.
